In Spring 2021, Harley-Davidson announced its Icons Collection. The Milwaukee-based motorcycle company has cut back on its offerings, while focusing on heritage appeal.
The Icons Collection will feature a limited-edition bike based on classic Harley-Davidson design, upgraded with modern features. The company is celebrating its history and what customers have loved about the brand for years, while advancing new technologies.
What to Expect
As part of its Hardwire effort, Harley-Davidson intends to introduce one or two models for the Icons Collection each year. Every new bike will be produced for a brief period and have a serial number.
The company does not intend to repeat production for these bikes; once purchased, you will be presented with a certificate of authenticity.
Considering its classic appeal, Harley-Davidson plans to introduce models inspired by its most desired and familiar bikes, complete with their signature, historical colors.
While highlighting its legacy, each model will incorporate the company’s most advanced features.
The Electra Glide® Revival™
Kicking off the Icons Collection is the Electra Glide® Revival™, with 1,500 serialized bikes on a global scale. True to its mission, Harley-Davidson based this model on its 1969 Electra Glide, their first bike to include accessory “batwing” fairing.
Inspired by the original, the Electra Glide® Revival™ will feature a Birch White painted finish and tank medallion on the front fender. Aside from the visuals, the Electra Glide® Revival™ will include:
- A solo saddle sitting over an adjustable coil spring and shock absorber.
- Chrome steel-plated wheels and wide, whitewall tires.
- Chrome on the fender and saddlebag rails for another old-school accent.
- A Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-Twin engine for a more classic sound. The engine provides 114 cu. in. displacement, 118 ft. lb. of torque and enhances its performance through four valve cylinder heads designed to increase air flow, dual spark plugs for more comprehensive combustion and the 6-Speed Cruise Drive® transmission.
- Single-spar Touring frame offering a stiffer backbone to support your gear.
- A chassis built for longer trips, complete with adjustable rear shock absorbers for a smoother trip and 49mm forks with dual bending valve suspension technology.
- Batwing fairing, with a tall windshield and split-stream vent.
- Electronic cruise control.
- Improved illumination, through a halogen headlamp and incandescent auxiliary lamps.
- A touchscreen Boom!™ Box GTS infotainment system with two speakers, hand and voice commands and navigation features.
- Reflex™ Defensive Rider Systems (RDRS) to improve traction whenever you accelerate, decelerate or brake.
