Mark your calendars for summer 2023! Harley-Davidson will celebrate their 120th anniversary with a “homecoming event” in Milwaukee from July 13th – 16th featuring music, food and moto-culture at multiple venues.
In a press release, President and CEO Jochen Zeitz stated, “We invite everyone, riders, non-riders, and fans around the world, to join us in Milwaukee next summer for the Harley-Davidson Homecoming where we will celebrate 120 years of our incredible brand.”
Harley-Davidson’s History of Events
Since 1953, when Harley-Davidson commemorated its 50th anniversary outside the Capitol Drive plant in Milwaukee, the company has hosted celebratory events. Five-year intervals started in 1988 for the brand’s 85th anniversary, with Harley-Davidson enthusiasts traveling to Milwaukee to participate in various gatherings and activities. The last celebration for its 115th anniversary in 2018 attracted roughly 150,000 people to the Milwaukee area.
What’s Expected for the 120th Anniversary
Zeitz hinted to a multi-part celebration over the course of 2023, adding to his statement: “This will be the first in a series of unforgettable annual events in Milwaukee. Stay tuned for more details in coming months, and we look forward to celebrating with you in 2023.”
The four-day affair in July is predicted to involve multiple locations around the city, including the Garage event space at the Harley-Davidson Museum. A contest was also announced for various prizes, including a paid trip to Milwaukee for the Homecoming for riders and non-riders interested in the brand.
2023 New Model Release in January
Harley-Davidson will get a jumpstart on the anniversary celebration with an official rollout of its 2023 motorcycles and gear on January 18th. The announcement, including more details on the homecoming events, will stream live at 10 a.m. CST on harley-davidson.com.
“Please join us as we kick off our 120th anniversary with exciting new model introductions and a peek at what we have in store for the landmark year ahead,” Zeitz said.
